Ansford Academy is committed to raising the aspirations of and expectations for all students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are committed to providing lifelong learning for all our students and providing high quality education and an inclusive curriculum that supports students with SEND across all needs.
We believe in building strong relationships with students and their families and supporting SEND students to achieve their full potential. At Ansford Academy, we plan for students’ needs by ensuring that they have access to a broad and balanced curriculum, alongside support and intervention from the SEND and Pastoral Team.
The SEND Team is lead by both our Associate Headteachers as a job share role, and are supported by an Assistant SENDCo and SEND Teacher and Intervention Specialist:
- Mrs Becca Wood: SENDCo for Year 7 and Year 8
- Ms Su Perkins: SENDCo for Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11
- Mrs Michelle de Mora: Assistant SENDCoÂ
- Mrs Jane Rossiter: SEND Teacher and Intervention Specialist
There is also a team of experienced teaching assistants who support students in the classroom and deliver small group and 1-1 interventions, such as nurture groups, social skills and literacy.
