At Ansford, we know that students thrive when they are noted for their outstanding and ongoing achievements within school. Everyday, our team is inspired by the individual achievements seen within lessons: a thoughtful verbal answer, a comprehensive written piece, an inquisitive question or a considered act.

We are equally committed to rewarding excellent conduct outside of the classroom. Often our students flourish within our community, representing the Academy in various sports, enrichment activities and also in their interactions with peers and staff during the day.

Reward points are added by staff using Class Charts, allowing students and parents to view live data and be notified when new logs are added. Points can be exchanged for gifts, such as stationery sets, sports equipment or access to end of term reward events, using the Rewards Shop function on the app or website.

Our Student Council have also developed a half-termly learning behaviour focus to encourage and promote important interpersonal skills such as: kindness, caring and resilience. Students earn triple points for these logs and examples of their achievements are shared in our weekly Student Bulletin.

Each week, we celebrate the highest achieving students and tutor groups to encourage a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie within year groups.

Our pastoral and subject leaders view the data each day and will send personalised communication to parents and carers when students reach milestones.

Each half term ends with a fantastic rewards and recognition assembly led by our passionate Heads of Year. During these assemblies, we celebrate examples of individual and team achievements in all areas of the school.

The pinnacle of the celebrations takes place at the end of the academic year with our Awards Evening where a range of awards, recognising the outstanding achievements within subject areas, personal development and wider enrichment, are presented formally.
